Ladies 2s had their last pre season friendly before the season commences on 28th September.
Happily, it goes down as a home win!
A debut for Ayesha, and Isobelle, who last season joined us late and only played half a game!
The 2s team a real mix of youth and experience today.
And it worked out perfectly!
Anna G getting us 1.0 up in the first half however the game was very even throughout.
Both keepers not too busy as the action was played out largely in the middle of the park.
Although 2 world class saves from the CFHC keeper leaves her anticipating an almost certain England veterans call up any day now.....
Chloe playing her 3rd game of the day was composed and effective at right back.
Ayesha at left back had a brilliant debut, showing some great skill at times.
Although its not all about these young whippersnappers...
The experienced players were on top form, Caz strong at the back and Helen showed tenacious and unrelenting play, non stop, even after her park run.
A solid midfield showing from Jools, Clare, Zara and Nish. With Jo BM in Midfield worthy of a special mention for her hard work and tracking back today.
Jools and Clare adding such experience and vocal instruction was instrumental today.
In the 2nd half Leicester pulled one back and looked as though it could be a frustrating draw, but we continued to battle.
Even with Leicester having our 1s keeper Abi play for them due to their keeper being ill, she was trying a little too hard I feel.!!
The forward players worked hard today on pressing forward, Elsie had great energy to her play, apparently from a pre game pot noodle. . (Same next game Elsie..)
Anna helping out up front, with Erin again having a superb game never giving up.
And Isobelle on her first proper debut, showed real promise overcoming her nerves to get into some great positions and attack the ball.
With 5 minutes to go however..
An Charnwood attack was rewarded with Zara putting us a goal ahead and the win looked on the cards, she really did show some great creativity today..
A last play of the game saw a Leicester shot being majestically deflected by Helen and cleared off the line by the CFHC keeper.
Soooooo much to be pleased about from that game!!
