From small acorns, grow mighty Oaks! 🌳

On a weekend where Storm Bert obliterated the senior hockey schedule leaving only two senior club fixtures going ahead.

Our hockey focus was on Sundays junior tournament at Ashby HC.

As usual, the U8s kicked of proceedings in the worst of the weather and although I didnt see their games I heard they played absolutely superb hockey!!

Passing the ball around and scoring goals!

The super squirrels 🐿 had an absolutely great tournament, and I understand they didnt lose a game too!!! From small acorns, grow mighty oaks! 🌰🌳.

Next up 2 teams of our intrepid U10s ...

And I'm happy to say I saw a lot of their games!

The thing that blew me away... Wasn't the fact that both teams didn't lose a game...

The fact that both teams showed AMAZING team work and passed the ball, using the whole width of the pitch!!!

At times, some of the hockey just had the caoches and parents blown away!!

Well....

I tell you something....

Some of the hockey today left us speechless...

An absolute worldie from one player going top corner wouldn't have been saved by any of our senior keepers.. Thats for sure... Every player ran and ran, called and congratulated each other, left the pitch with smiles.

And the other team in the harder group... Well.. they won every game...

The level of hockey played in the team was first class...

Our senior mens teams need to get themselves ready for the absolute barrage of talent they can expect to be bursting through...

I'm speechless with the level of quality play ...

Once again, a huge thanks to the parents to get their kids there, on a day where I'm sure you'd rather have stayed in...

A huge round of applause 🙌 👏 to the coaches who give up their time, and make this happen...

Who have worked tirelessly and, I'm sure you agree we are seeing the improvements...

But most of all.. To the kids.. who played and worked so hard.. and today make it worth-while for us all.
