Charnwood Forest HC Men's 2nd team play in Division 6 North East of the Midlands Men's Hockey League. After being promoted (22/23) the team were challenged with staying in the division, they managed to achieve this comfortably and finished the season of 2023/2024 in 5th position. However the season of 2024/25 could only be described as a very tough season.
Starting their campaign with a series of draws and very narrow 1 goal losses which unfortunately set the tone for their season. Things were compounded by the loss of their captain and focal point having to step down for personal reasons, he was greatly missed. To the credit of the players the team soldiered on and had a couple of standout performances delivering a first league defeat to second placed south notts being the highlight - the belief that they could push on and rise up table was there unfortunately after the turnaround results didn’t improve. There can be fine margins in team sports and the 2’s will no doubt be a much stronger and better prepared unit as they step inti the new season and look to bounce back.
